Please call the following U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen and House of Rep. Sarbanes and state the following script if you can:
Hi, My name is x from x. As your office is aware, Guillermo Recinos Morales is facing deportation – a grandfather of 7 and father to 4 with no criminal record. I am calling to ask that U.S. Senator X (or U.S. Representative Sarbanes) call the ICE Office of Chief Counsel to agree to reopen the case of Guillermo so that he can file for asylum. If the ICE Office of Chief Counsel does not agree, than please ask that ICE Enforcement and Removal agree NOT TO DEPORT Guillermo UNTIL the appeal is decided. Astrid, Guillermo’s daughter, has been told that ICE will be taking Guillermo on Monday to Georgia to prepare for his deportation. This is urgent. The Board of Immigration Appeals has the Appeal and the Emergency Motion to Stay – they will not decide the Motion to Stay until early next week. I would really appreciate any help you can give to this man and his family. Thank you so much.
U.S. Senator Ben Cardin – 410-962-4436
U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen – 301-545-1500
U.S. Representative John Sarbanes – 410-832-8890
All 3 offices should be aware of Guillermo’s situation – both myself and Guillermo’s lawyer have been in touch with each of these offices this week.
Thank you! Please feel free to pass onto anyone else and let me know if any questions at all.
