HUDDLE DEMONSTRATION AT THE FCC!!
November 16, 9:45AM – 1:00PM
445 12th Street, SW
Please join the Ellicott City Conflicts of Interest Mini-Huddle for a trip to Washington, DC on Thursday, November 16th to demonstrate in front of the FCC, to protest the pending Sinclair-Tribune merger. The FCC is holding its monthly open meeting that morning, with press conferences likely afterward. If you would like to go with us, please meet us promptly at 8:00 AM! at the Broken Land Park and Ride West lot (9601 Broken Land Parkway, off Rt. 32). We will carpool from there to the Greenbelt Metro Station, where we will park, ($5.20 per car), then take the subway on the green line to the “L’Enfant Plaza” stop ($8.80 round trip; seniors, $4.90). We will walk three blocks from that metro stop to the FCC at 445 12th Street, Washington, DC. Plan to arrive at the FCC by 9:45 AM. Our peak protest times will be from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, and 12:15 to 1:00 PM. After our demonstration, we are hoping we can have lunch together nearby, before taking the subway back.
For anyone wishing to drive directly to the FCC to meet us there, a Portals Parking lot is at 1250 Maryland Avenue (same block as the FCC), or there is valet parking at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
Please bring a sign with you (no poles, sticks or profanity, please!), water and comfortable shoes. Layered outwear is recommended.
Please let us know if you are joining us, by emailing us in advance at email@example.com. We will confirm our plans with you shortly before the trip.
WE HOPE YOU WILL JOIN US!! THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING A FREE AND INDEPENDENT PRESS!! MARCH ON!!
